Thank you for visiting my web site.  I am Harry Warren and I am seeking the honor of representing Rowan County in the House of Representatives from District 77 for a second term.

It has been a privilege to have represented District 77 these past two historic years. For the first time in over 140 years, Republicans were in control of the House and the Senate. At a time when the liberal tax and spend policies of the democrat controlled legislature had brought us to the point of economic implosion, we were able to cut spending, reduce taxes and pass legislation that lay the foundation for a new direction based on fiscal conservatism and smaller government.

We passed a budget that wasn’t balanced on the backs of the counties or municipalities,. We cut spending, reduced and consolidated many of the departments and agencies of the government. We reduced sales taxes, personal income and corporate income taxes.

Historic reform legislation was passed that addressed education, job creation, annexation (personal property rights), regulatory reform and Second Amendment rights, to mention a few. Unfortunately, we did not have a super majority in the House, as we did in the Senate, to enable us to override the many vetoes that our democrat Governor freely issued on some of the most sweeping reforms that addressed illegal immigration, tort reform, voter ID and abortion.

This year, it is critical that we not only retain the majority in the House, we must win at least 5 additional seats in order to gain a Super Majority. Additionally, we must do all that we can to ensure that a Republican is elected Governor of this great state. There is much work to be done if we are to build upon the initiatives that we started. Additional reforms are needed to continue to improve education, tax reform and illegal immigration.  We must complete the reforms that will create a permanent business friendly environment that is essential for our economy to recover. Job creation by the private sector requires the assurance of sensible regulations and reasonable taxation. We must continue the work of making North Carolina globally competitive.
